SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT

Commercial snow and ice management company seeking to hire experienced snow plow drivers, skid steer operators, field supervisors, route operators, snow shovelers, bilingual office administrator and a mechanic on a part time basis.

All applicants for snow operations must live in close proximity to Drexel Hill PA and/or MUST have access to transportation (public transportation shuts down during winter precipitation events) to get to our area prior, during and/or after a snow event. We are unable to pick up or drop off workers at home prior to, during or after snow storms. All part time hirees will be required to sign a work contract along with a non-disclosure, non-compete addendum as well as be subject to random drug and alcohol testing as well as a criminal background check.

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR

Seeking bi-lingual preferred office administrator. This position will be interesting, challenging and each day will not be like the day before. Position could expand into full time role and could become year round with other business activities of company owner. This position includes unusual hours.

Hours

  • October and November: approximately 3 days per week, 8 hours per day. 30 minute lunch break. 9AM to 5:30PM. Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
  • December/January/February/March: possibly more days per week may be needed depending on precipitation events. Abnormal schedule. Work during winter precipitation events may include unusual work hours. Example: lets say you work on Monday, normal hours of 9AM to 5:30PM, and they are calling for snow to begin on Wednesday night, you will most likely not come in Wednesday during the day, but rather Wednesday night to start help coordinating prestorm plans and help manage operations during the storm. Overnight working such as 8PM until 10AM the next morning would be expected. Hours may extend beyond 8 hours and could extend up to a possible 14 hour shift (not common).
  • MUST be available before, during and after precipitation events to answer incoming calls, dispatch crews, relay information, work alongside management in ensuring operations go smoothly.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Answer incoming calls, processing messages, getting necessary messages out into field to plow drivers or field supervisors.
  • Compile technical, financial and other data using databases
  • Tracking employee time
  • Communication with employees regarding work schedules
  • Operate time tracking software (no prior experience necessary)
  • Assist in accounting administration (Quickbooks)
  • Assist in processing payroll
  • Assist in processing invoices (Quickbooks experience necessary)
  • Assist in general office: filing, processing payments, tracking equipment data (for example: charting all vehicle inspection dates, service dates)
  • Assisting in the maintenance of inventory
  • Send and respond to written, phone and email communication
  • Set up and attend meetings with work crews
  • Maintain calenders and schedules
  • Record and organize meetings
  • Other activities may include "gophering", may send you to pick stuff up at stores or bring something to a work crew.

SNOW PLOW OPERATOR


COMMERCIAL PLOW OPERATOR (2 Years experience required with referrences)

Must have experience with snow plow truck or RTV snow plow vehicles. You will navigate to numerous commercial and/or residential properties with a shoveling crew. You will instruct the shovelers where to perform the work, you will also be expected to shovel if necessary and possibly even operate a snowblower. Your work ethic at each site shoveling will set the tone for the rest of the group, so we are seeking an individual (man or woman) with a strong work ethic. You will be responsible for ensuring that each site is cleared of snow and the appropriate deicing agents (rock salt or calcium chloride) is applied to specifications. You will be required to perform the work within a determined amount of time. Other duties are included that may not be mentioned here. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Individual MUST be available at all times day/night, weekday/weekend and holidays. We work at all hours of day/night depending on what happens with the storm. We are looking at shifts of as few as 3 to 5 hours for a light snow to 12 to 15 hour "consecutive" shifts with an eight hour sleep break for larger storms. We are looking for people for good navigational skills, someone who is familiar with operating a GPS, handheld devices, someone who will keep good notes on the work performed and someone who is good managing workers in an efficient manner. We are looking for someone with a positive, "can do" attitude. Background, criminal and random drug test will be conducted. You must have a cell phone for communication. This is a part time position, meaning, when it snows, we work. Must have flexibility to such unknown work hours.

Your work ethic at each site shoveling will set the tone for the rest of the group, so we are seeking an individual (man or woman) with a strong work ethic. SNOW SHOVELER

Seeking laborer to shovel snow, and possibly operate a snow blower. Work is tough and hours are long. A strong work ethic is required. Seeking an individual who is reliable and wants to work storm to storm as well as the full shift. Must have reliable 4x4 transportation (able to drive through snow) to Drexel Hill/Lansdowne area during winter snow, sleet or ice events. Cannot rely upon public transportation during these events, because Septa normally shuts down.

FIELD SUPERVISOR

Seeking individual on part time basis to supervise and coordinate snow clearing activities during winter precipitation events. This position requires that you have your own 4x4 vehicle to travel to and from our numerous job sites conducting quality control inspections and instruction to plow crews. Position requires person who is thorough in making reports and inspecting each site.

Hours

  • This position is a part time position during the winter months of November, December, January, February and March.
  • Expect to do some hours of prep work and training in the beginning and then we wait for winter precipitation events.
  • Overnight working such as 8PM until 10AM the next morning would be expected. Hours may extend beyond 8 hours and could extend up to a possible 14 hour shift (not common).
  • MUST be available before, during and after precipitation events.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Know all the work requirements of the properties and ensure that the snow plow operators execute the full expectation of the client.
  • Travel to and walk every property within your route and ensure all areas have been completed to expectation.
  • Fill out reports regarding the execution of the work by snow crews.
  • Communication skills necessary in effectively communicating to snow plow crews if anything was missed and to ensure the crews perform effectively in future.
  • Report back to main office any needs during snow storm and condition reports.
  • Will need to run "gopher" trips assisting the snow plow operators with anything they may need: fuel, shovels, etc…

For this position, you will be operating a Bobcat skid steer with a snow pusher on the front. You will be assigned a route with numerous properties and will be expected to execute the work performed in an efficient manner. You will be expected to check the engine prior to work, checking the inside of the machine for any loose tubes, checking the oil and making sure there is enough hydraulic fluid and fuel to commence work. You will be working alone. You must have a cell phone for communication. You will be responsible for ensuring that each site is cleared of snow. You will be required to perform the work within a determined amount of time. Other duties are included that may not be mentioned here. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. MECHANIC

Looking to hire a flexible mechanic part time or on a as needed basis. We own a commercial snow removal operation as well as a powerwashing business and have numerous vehicles, plows, blowers, skid steers and other machinery. We are looking for someone who has experience in installing snow plows on trucks, jeeps and RTV's.

We need an experienced mechanic with at least 5 years experience, to install snow plows, repair plows, fix snow blowers, perform regular maintenance, install/repair spreaders, repair/resolve issues with trucks. Its preferable, that you have experience repairing skid steers. We will need you to be available throughout snow storms should some of our equipment malfunction. You would be located at our yard during snow storms and may be required to travel to a job site to do an onsite repair. This is a part time position, that could someday grow into a full time position when me move into a larger commercial location. We can talk more about the details. Must have own tools and vehicle (fuel reimbursements will be provided if travel to job sites is needed). Preferable you live in the area.
